Rob was shared his OO scale model railway track plan.
You can see the picture’s of rob’s OO scale model railway track plan here.
Farland, my OO scale 1:76.2 model railway, is a creative interpretation of Britain, albeit not adhering strictly to historical accuracy. Initially conceived within the narrow confines of 1965-1968, the timeline has organically expanded, encompassing periods predating the 1950s and extending beyond the 1990s.
Robs journey into OO modelling began in 2012 with a purchase of a locomotive advertised to emit sound, sparking Rob’s ongoing passion.
The current rendition of Farland marks its second iteration, following a learning-laden first attempt in his unfinished basement.
With no initial plan, I procured a sheet of plywood, added legs, and set my locomotive in motion. Swift expansions ensued, morphing the layout into a sprawling 22-by-13-foot expanse. A pivotal moment arose when my wife, weary of the basement clutter, proposed its transformation, leading to a scaled-down vision realized in our hallway.
The plan features two main tracks that run along each other with other tracks branching off and rejoining at a later point. It’s has sidings from the main track that goes to different locations like the diesel shed, steam engine shop and a platform.
Rob’s OO scale modelling skills are amazing and makes the track look full and complete. But I bet Rob has yet to finish it.
